DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Sudanne Stewart earned her second Sun Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week honor after leading Florida Memorial to a 2-1 record during the week ending Jan. 10. The sophomore guard average 17.3 points, three rebounds and 3.3 assists, and shot 45.2 percent from the field, 47.6 percent from beyond the arc and 80 percent from the free throw line.

 

In the Lions’ first game of the week, Stewart had 17 points and four rebounds in a 68-54 loss to St. Francis (Ill.). She followed that outing with a 13-point, five –assist performance against Ave Maria, leading the Lions to a 71-47 win in their conference opener. Florida Memorial’s final game of the week saw Stewart score 22 points and hand out four assists in an 82-56 victory over Warner. She was 8-of-13 from the field, 4-of-6 from the three-point line and 2-for2 in free throws in that game.
