DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Christina Howard became the second Warner women’s basketball player to be named The Sun Conference Player of the Week after earning the honor on Jan. 25. The Daytona Beach sophomore averaged 11.5 points and eight rebounds to lead the Royals to a 2-0 week that helped Warner match their conference win total from last season.
Against Edward Waters, Howard totaled 12 points, seven boards and three blocks on 6-of-13 shooting from the field to help the Royals to a 72-62 win. A few days later, the 6-4 center turned in and 11-point, nine-rebound performance to lead Warner to an 83-78 defeat of cross-town rival Webber International, marking Warner’s first win over the Warriors in five tries.
