DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Savannah College of Art and Design’s Kirsten Curette was became the first softball player in league history to earn both Player and Pitcher of the Week honors in the same week, The Sun Conference announced on Apr. 4.  The senior batted .786 (11-for-14) in the three-game set with a .929 slugging percentage, two doubles, seven runs scored, two stolen bases and eight RBI as the Bees improved to 26-9 overall and 3-0 in league play with a three-game sweep of Edward Waters. She also put together an impressive pitching performance, collecting wins in two games for the Bees.

 

In the first game, Curette was 4-for-5 as the plate with five RBI, a run scored and a double, and followed with a 2-for-4 outing in the second game. She wrapped up the series with a perfect 5-for-5 performance, scoring four runs, driving in two runs a knocking out a double.

 

On the mound, Curette limited Edward Waters to just one hit and one unearned in two games. She struck out nine batters in five innings in the first game and followed with four strikeouts in three no-hit innings in the second.
