DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Conference has announced that Embry-Riddle freshman Valerie Obita is the Offensive Player of the Week for her three-goal, one-assist week from Sept. 27 - Oct. 3, 2010.

Obita, a forward from Lindome, Sweden, is the third Eagle to receive the honor this season, with the Eagles taking four of the first five accolades offensively. Obita assisted on an Eagle goal in their 3-1 victory over Florida Memorial on Friday night before producing her first career hat trick in Sunday afternoon's 3-1 win over St. Thomas. Obita's 12 goals is tied for The Sun Conference lead, and her seven points last week were the most of any TSC athlete.
