It came down to one game. SCAD led The Sun Conference by just points over Thomas University; however, a win by the Night Hawks over the Bees on the last day of the regular season conference play would bring them a share of the conference crown and the number 1 seed in the conference tournament Thomas came into the game with SCAD ranked #3 in the NAIA Poll at 12-1-3, while SCAD was ranked #23 at 9-2-3.

The first period had SCAD consistently in control of the ball. The Bees spent the greater portion of the time on the Night Hawks side of the pitch for most of the first period. It was a good sign of things to come. Outshooting the Night Hawks 9-3, SCAD was still unable to score until nine minutes into the game. It was at that time that Jordan Trinci-Lyne, the Bees' leader in goals with 8, played a different role in the outcome of this game. Kicking a cross pitch pass to teammate Will Oswin, enabled Oswin to quickly pass to Taylor Katsanis at the goal, who placed it perfectly in the net. SCAD took a 1-0 lead.

The score remained 1-0 at half. The second period saw tenacious defense exhibted by both teams, but SCAD already had a score so the pressure was on Thomas. The Bee' defense only allowed four shots in the final period. It was a team effort as the SCAD defense constantly repelled any scoring drive of the Night Hawks. When the horn sounded the Bees had their conference crown and the number one seed in the upcoming tournament.

SCAD finished the season at 10-2-3. After losing its first two road games this season the men never lost another contest. Of their ten victories eight were shutouts.
