Lady Warriors Extinguish Lady Fire, 1-0
LAKELAND, Fla. – The Webber International University Lady Warriors soccer team traveled to Lakeland to face off against Southeastern University Lady Fire in the opening round of The Sun Conference Women's Soccer Championships. The Lady Warriors extinguished the Lady Fire 1-0 to advance to the semifinals against Northwood.
The first half of the game was a defensive battle for both teams only allowing seven shots for both teams. The Lady Warriors shot four times in the first half with two of them being saved by the Lady Fire goalie. The Lady Fire got off three shots off in the first half with
Kayla Hanel saving two of the shots.
In the second half, the Lady Warriors found the back of the net as
Marisela Rivera scored off a great pass by Megansent Howard. The Lady Warriors then turned to their defense to secure the win holding off the Lady Fire attacks. The Lady Warriors shot only one time in the second half finding the back of the net. The Lady Fire took eight shots on the Lady Warriors but all were blocked, wide, or saved to give the 1-0 victory to the Lady Warriors. The Lady Warriors goalie

The Lady Warriors will return to action on Saturday, November 8
th as they travel to take on Northwood University in the semifinal round of The Sun Conference Women's Soccer Championship.
