ORLANDO, Fla. – For the second time this season, Warner University women's tennis team has defeated a ranked opponent.  On Saturday, March 22, the Lady Royals took down No. 14 SCAD-Atlanta 6-3 at the Lake Cane Tennis Center.  The win improves the Lady Royals' record to 6-7 on the season while the loss drops the Bees to 4-3 in 2014.

It was a great start for the Lady Royals as they took a 2-1 lead in the doubles round.  Fernanda Correa and Paula Garcia won their No. 2 doubles match as did Claudia Sequera and Caitlyn Ryan in the No. 3 match.

The Bees tied the match at 2-2 when Nhatalia Ocampo had to retire in her No. 1 singles match after winning the first set 6-3 against 16th-ranked Lee Ann Lingo.

Back to back wins at the No. 3 and No. 6 positions put the Lady Royals on the brink of a victory as Correa and Cindy Prieto won in straight sets.

The Bees held off a Warner victory with a win in the No. 5 singles match; Warner's Caitlyn Ryan was defeated 6-3, 6-2.

Leading 4-3, freshman Monique Frandji clinched the match with a three-set victory in her No. 2 singles match.  Claudia Sequera added another win in her No. 4 singles match to end the scoring 6-3 in favor of the Lady Royals.

The Lady Royals will enjoy some time off for Spring Break before closing out the regular season against two top 10 opponents.  On April 5, the Lady Royals travel to Savannah, Ga. to face No. 5 SCAD Savannah then return home on April 10 to welcome in No. 6 Embry-Riddle University.
