Conference Office Announces 2015 Baseball Gold Glove Team

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Conference office has released the 2015 Gold Glove team for the 2015 season following the regular season and conference tournament. All nine student-athletes will move on to the Rawlings-NAIA Gold Glove national ballot.

1B - Johnny Cole, USCB (Senior - Davie, Fla.)
The Sand Sharks' Cole was impressive at first for USCB, committing just four errors in 503 chances (second-most chances in the league), racking up a conference-leading 469 putouts with 30 assists while a part of 42 double plays.

2B - Josh Reinhart, USCB (Junior - Louisville, Ky.)
The second of three USCB infielders on the Gold Glove team, Reinhardt made only two errors in 247 chances at second base, assisting on 145 putouts and helped turn 33 double plays in 2015.

3B - AJ Arroyo, Webber International (Senior - Bronx, N.Y.)
Playing the hot corner, the Warriors' Arroyo made 188 putouts with 49 assists and just nine errors. The New York native was a part of 13 double plays and fielded .963 in his senior season.

SS - Ashly Morris, USCB (Senior - Savannah, Ga.)
Senior shortstop Morris ranked second in The Sun Conference with 170 assists and 84 putouts with a .937 fielding percentage. Morris was a part of 31 double plays in his final season with the Sand Sharks, finishing his four-year USCB career with 440 assists and 90 double plays.

LF - Brandon Singer, Thomas (Senior - Leesburg, Fla.)
The Night Hawks' Singer had 76 putouts, two assists and two errors with one double play as a senior outfielder.

CF - TJ Glessner, Southeastern (Senior - Pinellas Park, Fla.)
Glessner, a senior from Pinellas Park, Fla., had one miscue in 92 chances in centerfield, registering four assists and one double play for the Fire.

RF - Taylor Layner, Webber International (Junior - St. Petersburg, Fla.)
Layner was perfect in the outfield for the Warriors, securing all 98 chances he had with no errors. He is one of just two Gold Glove winners with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

C - Carlos Contreras, Northwood (Senior - Dallas, Texas)
Contreras was rock solid behind the plate for the Seahawks, making one error in 332 chances. The senior had 297 putouts, 23 assists and was part of two double plays. He threw out 16 runners in 2015.

P - Tate Lambert, Thomas (Freshman - Bainbridge, Fla.)
Thomas' Lambert helped his own cause on the mound with a 1.000 fielding percentage in 25 chances, recording three putouts and 22 assists in his rookie season with the Night Hawks.
