FORT MYERS, Fla. - No. 4 seed Keiser is the only undefeated team after the second day of the Sun Conference Baseball Tournament, but five teams still remain heading into the final two days of the tournament.
The Seahawks continued their red-hot hitting in a 14-7 victory over No. 5 seed Southeastern in the final game of the night. Keiser has scored 29 runs in its first two games of the tournament.
Tyler Goff went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and five RBIs and Casey Mullinix was 4-for-6 with an RBI double to power the offense, and Steven Bruce earned the win, allowing five runs and seven hits over seven innings with six strikeouts.
No. 2 seed St. Thomas stayed alive with a 7-3 comeback victory over No. 6 Warner in the first game of the day, rallying from a 3-1 deficit with six runs over the final three innings to eliminate the Royals.
Jose Gomez went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Jack Diaz hit a two-run, pinch-hit home run to give the Bobcats the lead in the ninth inning. Alex Viera earned the win with five scoreless innings of relief, striking out five and allowing four hits.
Third-seeded Webber International rebounded from a 15-4 loss to Keiser on day one to hand top-seeded USCB an 8-5 defeat in the second game of the day. The Warriors rallied from a 4-0 deficit with five runs in the fifth and added a pair of runs on Ramon Sanchez's two-run blast in the sixth.
Sanchez was 3-for-4 and Taylor Layner added a three-run triple, while Colin Richardson gave up two runs over five innings of relief for the win and Jose Serrano picked up his seventh save with two scoreless innings.
USCB will face Southeastern in an elimination game in the first game at 11 a.m. Sunday with the winner advancing to face Keiser at 7 p.m. Webber International and St. Thomas will square off in an elimination game at 3 p.m.
