AVE MARIA, Fla.-
The Southeastern University women's cross country swept the top three spots in Saturday's Sun Conference Championship, and won their first ever conference championship on the campus of Ave Maria University. Southeastern's win snapped a four-year streak of victories by SCAD Savannah, who finished third. St. Thomas University finished second by placing five runners in the top 15 and seven in the top 20.

Southeastern's Kelsi Ogilvie won the individual conference title, finishing the course in 18:45.3. As a freshman, Ogilvie was also named the Conference's Newcomer of the Year. Her Fire teammates Julia Kaster and Sydni Ogilvie finished right behind her to claim First Team All-Sun Conference honors. The Fire also had three Second Team selections in Raeanna Pabon, Kristen Robinson, and Megan Fitzgerald. Head coach Paul Kurtz was also named the Sun Conference's Coach of Year.

SCAD Savannah's Lemi Wutz, St. Thomas' Sarah Bomkamp and Susana Gutierrez, and Keiser's Josefine Malmborg rounded out the First Team honorees, and will advance individual to the NAIA National Championship later this month. The Second Team, in addition to the three Fire runners, featured Ave Maria's Madeline Rublee, Sofia Young and Andrea Peterson from St. Thomas, and Caroline Cook of SCAD Savannah.

Southeastern and the four individual qualifiers now head to the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington for the 38th Annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship. The race will be held on November 18, with a scheduled start time of 2:30 p.m. EST/11:30 a.m. PST.
