The Sun Conference honored the following players for their performance during the week of Feb. 6:

BASEBALL

Pitcher of the Week: Keiser’s Miguel Castellanos pitched two innings against Warner, striking out three batters in a no-decision, then received the starting nod in Game 3 against Northwestern Ohio on Sunday, pitching a complete-game shutout while striking out 11 batters and surrendering just six hits.

Player of the Week: St. Thomas’ Oscar Rodriguez had multi-hit games in all four of his games last week, going 12-for-19 (.632), with four doubles and four RBIs to help carry the Bobcats to big victories over No. 6 Lindsey Wilson and No. 4 Tennessee Wesleyan. 

BASKETBALL

Men’s Player of the Week: Warner’s Warren Hall became The Sun Conference's all-time leading scorer when he scored 35 points Friday against Trinity College. Hall averaged 30 points, eight rebounds and four assists in a pair of wins, collecting 25 points and nine boards in a 75-57 win over Webber International and adding 35 points, seven rebounds and five assists against Trinity.

Women’s Player of the Week: Southeastern’s Christin Strawbridge helped the Fire secure a pair of conference wins, including a road win versus St. Thomas that secured The Sun Conference regular-season title. Strawbridge shot 71.4% from the field (15-21) and recorded the 500th field goal of her collegiate career last week.

SOFTBALL

Pitcher of the Week: USCB’s Abby Pac started her sophomore campaign with a strong outing, tossing a two-hit shutout against Montreat on opening day. She struck out five – surpassing 100 career strikeouts in the process – and issued just two walks. Pac didn't allow a hit until the leadoff batter singled in the fifth.

Player of the Week: Southeastern’s Brandee Pietrzak went 4-for-5 with a double, a homer, five RBIs and three runs scored in a doubleheader sweep of Edward Waters to open the season. The junior catcher also drew a walk and added a stolen base, finishing with an .833 on-base percentage and a 1.600 slugging percentage for the week.

TENNIS

Men’s Tennis Player of the Week: Keiser’s Arthur Bonnaud was 3-0 in singles on the week, improving to 16-2 on the season. The sophomore from Clamart, France, defeated opponents from NCAA Division I Florida Atlantic, NCAA Division II Embry-Riddle and NAIA No. 15 Warner.

Women’s Tennis Player of the Week: SCAD Savannah’s Camille Gbaguidi won both of her matches in the Bees’ 9-0 victory over Sun Conference rival St. Thomas without dropping a game. The junior from Berlin, Germany, won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and teamed up for an 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles.
