Women’s Golf 2018-19 Postseason Honors

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.—Following play at PGA National’s Fazio Course, The Sun Conference released its women’s golf postseason honors for the 2018-19 season.
Top-ranked Keiser placed six players on the All-Sun Conference team, led by Player of the Year Samantha Fuller. Fuller is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA with a scoring average of 73.4 and a best round of 68 this season. She is a five-time medalist this season.
Deeya Aggarwal, Natalia Campbell, Serra Evrengil, Beata Suurwee, and Michela Tjan joined Fuller on the All-Sun Conference Team.
Additionally, Brandon Miller was named Coach of the Year leading Keiser to the No. 1 ranking and five event wins.
Second-ranked SCAD and sixth-ranked USCB each had three players on the all-conference list. Alessia Avanzo represented the Bees on the all-conference team and was named Freshman of the Year. Avanzo is ranked 11
th nationally and fourth in the conference with a 76.13 scoring average, and is the top-ranked freshman in the conference, and posted five top 15 finishes. Maria Otero and Sofia Suarez also earned all-conference recognition from SCAD.
Blanca Porta, Deliah Prescha, and Vanessa Schloo earned all-conference recognition from USCB.
Kylee Wheeler of Coastal Georgia was named the Champion of Character Award recipient, for her volunteer work. She has spent three years as a volunteer for RSM, helping teach young children how to play golf, and has volunteered with their Kids Day and their bike race. Wheeler has also volunteered at the Jones Cup the last two years, and spends time volunteering at nursing homes and making blankets for children in need and cancer patients.
Seventeen student-athletes were recognized for their work in the classroom as Academic All-Conference. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed two semesters at their institution with a 3.5 grade point average. Keiser posted a league-high four players on the list.
