SCAD Savannah Chosen to Repeat as SUN Champions in 2024 Preseason Poll

TAMPA, Fla. – SCAD Savannah has been selected to finish atop the Sun Conference as voted on by the head coaches in the 2024 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
 
The Bees, who finished last season ranked No. 6 in the final NAIA poll, claimed the leagues’ 2023 Regular Season and Tournament Championships. Despite falling short in the second round of the NAIA Women’s Soccer Championship, SCAD finished the year with an overall record of 17-2-2 and were 11-1-2 in league play.

Southeastern totals 56 points in the poll and grabs three first-place votes after finishing the 2023 season with an overall record of 11-5-3. The Fire were SUN Tournament Runners Up and earned a bid to the National Tournament. The Seahawks of Keiser earn the third spot in the poll with 54 points and the final first-place vote. KU made it to the Round of 16 in the NAIA Championship a season ago and were 8-4-2 in conference action.  

Voted for the fourth spot are the Bobcats of St. Thomas. STU was SUN Tournament semifinalists and a National Tournament selection last season, finishing the year with a 13-5-2 overall record.

Collecting 34 total points in the poll and slated in the fifth spot is Ave Maria. Voted sixth is Webber International with 28 points and just behind the Warriors is Warner (21 points).
 
Florida Memorial and New College of Florida complete the poll with 16 points and 11 points, respectively. The Mighty Banyans of NCF will make their Sun Conference debut in 2024 coming off a 4-8-2 season.
 
Conference play begins Saturday, September 14 with the conference tournament to begin Thursday, November 7. Scores for all games can be found on The Sun Scoreboard and stayed tuned into SUN live action all season long on The Sun Digital Network.
