TAMPA, Fla. – Listed below are the Sun Conference Women's Basketball Players to Watch for the 2025-26 season as submitted by each program.
The season commences on Friday, October 24th with conference play to begin on Saturday, November 15. The Sun Conference Tournament will start with quarterfinal matchups on Tuesday, February 24.

Gabby Beauperthuy
Senior | Colorado Springs, Colo. (Midland (Neb.) | Forward
Notes: Among the players returning to the Gyrenes this season, Gabby Beauperthuy played the most minutes, averaging 8.7 minutes per game, and scored the most points, averaging 2.7 per game. Beauperthuy started her collegiate career at Midland, an NAIA school Nebraska, but transferred to Ave Maria last season and made an immediate impact. Now the Gyrenes look to her to lead the group.

Peyton Shafer
Sophomore | Goshen, Ohio | Guard
Notes: Peyton Shafer, a 5’11” sophomore point guard from Goshen, Ohio, is an electric presence on the floor who impacts the game in every area. Averaging 9 points, 2.9 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game, Peyton brings energy and versatility to both ends of the court. A natural leader and dedicated teammate, she’s known for her competitiveness and willingness to take on any challenge. With her strong basketball IQ and relentless drive, Peyton is poised for another big step forward this season.

Notes: Rainey is back for her third season with the Lions. Averages 45% from the field and had 30 steals in the 2024-25 season.

Emelia O'Gilvie
Junior | Hyde Park, Mass. (Boston University) | Guard
Notes: Loghan Downie comes into his second year with high aspirations from Coach Bryant. Last season, Downie started 18 of his 26 appearances and finished second on the team in blocks. His best game of the year came against Brewton-Parker when he tallied 13 points and eight rebounds.

Notes: Sierra is a senior forward for us this year that lead us in point, rebounds, and assists. She brings a high level of competitiveness to our team and is always looking to make others around her better.

Grace Field
Graduate Student | Albany, N.Y. (Ave Maria) | Forward
Notes: Field, a key part of the Fire success, played in every game this season. She totaled 780 minutes of playing time. She led the team with 241 rebounds this season and averaged 11.6 points a game. Had a season high 24 points road win over St. Thomas University. Led the team with eight double-doubles. Named a member of the Sun Conference All-Tournament Team, made First-Team All-Sun Conference, and earned Sun Conference Player of the Week four times this season.

Senior | Plantation, Fla. (Santa Fe College) | Guard
Notes: The Bobcats' leading scorer from the 2024-25 campaign returns after an All-Conference campaign... Averaged 10.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists... Recorded four double doubles, highlighted by season highs 21 points and 14 rebounds against the New College of Florida.

Samaria Sims
Junior | Hampton, Ga., (New Faith Christian Academy) | Guard
Notes: Entering her third season with the Royals, junior guard Samaria Sims continues to be a steady presence in Warner’s backcourt. Appearing in 19 games during the 2024-25 season, Sims averaged 1.3 points per game while contributing 19 rebounds, 10 assists, and 7 steals. Known for her energy, leadership, and court vision, Sims plays a pivotal role in guiding the Royals’ offense and setting the tone for her teammates.

Camryn Patterson
Sophomore | Orlando, Fla. (University of Tampa) | Guard
Notes: Patterson transfers into the Warriors after spending last season with the Tampa Spartans. She will bring a lot of offensive firepower to the Warriors this season, and should look to help bring Webber back to the Conference Tournament and the NAIA tournament.
