SUN Players of the Week - April 7, 2025

TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week honorees for the week of April 7, 2025. 

The baseball and softball weekly honors are presented by WinWon, the Official Sports Technology Platform of The Sun. To learn more about WinWon, please click here

All awards are based on performances from March 31 - April 6.
 

Baseball Players of the Week Presented by WinWon

13110Player of the Week
Connor Hicks, Southeastern | Sr. - Catcher - Toronto, Canada

Hicks was a force of nature against the visiting Lions of Florida Memorial. Batting .667 on the weekend with 11 RBIs on 12 for 18 batting. The RBIs were fueled by two homers and four doubles, as he crossed home plate three times himself. He finished the weekend with a 1.222 slugging percentage, two walks, no strikeouts, and a .700 on base percentage. He helped defensively with 24 putouts and three assists.



13157Pitcher of the Week
Aaron Robertson, Southeastern | Sr. - Left-handed Pitcher - Everett, Wash.

Robertson dominated his appearance, dealing 11 K's, striking out the first seven outs. Finishing the day with 11 strikeouts, only allowing two hits and two walks. Going six innings with a 16.50 k/9. His perfect ERA on the day improved his NAIA #1 ERA to 1.31.



 

Softball Players of the Week Presented by WinWon

Rylie Smith, College of Coastal Georgia | Fr. - Catcher/Infielder - Dacula, Ga.

Hit 2 three-run homeruns and a double, giving her 7 RBI for the weekend. Smith scored 2 runs, went 3 for 9 at the plate, and helped her team to two wins in conference action this weekend.

Victoria Navarro, St. Thomas | Sr. - Pitcher/Utility - Pembroke Pines, Fla.

Navarro pitched 20 innings this week, remaining undefeated with a 12-0 record. Navarro notched 15 strikeouts, averaging 5.25 strikeouts per game. She allowed only two runs across each game, picking up 3 wins.




 

Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

13236Defensive Player of the Week
Emily Durr, Ave Maria | Sr. - Goalkeeper - Cincinnati, Ohio

Durr got two wins in goal over the week for Ave Maria, stopping 11 of the 18 shots she faced. In both games, Durr posted a save percentage over 50% as she stopped more shots than she let in. She now has six wins on the season and is one away from tying the program record for wins in a season by a goalie.

Abigail Seiler, Ave Maria | Sr. - Midfielder - Wildwood, Mo.

Seiler made history on Senior Day. With her five goals against Webber, Seiler broke the program record for career goals with 145. She passed head coach Katelyn Sherman, whose record of 142 goals had stood since 2019. Seiler also passed Sherman for career points with 173, and now has the second most in AMU history. Over the week, Seiler had nine points off eight goals and one assist.


 

Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week

Mobile

Rachel and Jaci finished out the regular season with a pairing record of 25-0, having gone undefeated the entire regular season, becoming the first pair in University of Mobile history to have done so. With the wins over William Carey and Loyola, Mobile clinched the regular season title for the SUN Conference with a perfect 12-0 record.

 

Tennis Players of the Week

13148Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Diego Menendez, Southeastern | Sr. - Gijón, Spain

Menendez rolled his competition once again, helping the Fire to another 4-0 victory. This time over #13 Dillard. At line one he beat #55 Yassine Benjemaa in straight sets, and with Piero Fernandez he blanked #43 Nour Ibrahim and Yassine Benjemaa at flight one. He remains the only player on the Fire roster to finsih all of his matches, with only one loss on the season.



13235Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Vanja Vidanovic, Keiser | Sr. - Subotica, Serbia

A Stalwart in the Keiser lineup, Vidanovic has been continuously racking up wins for Keiser in singles and doubles. Currently, she is on an 11-match winning streak in singles and a 14-match winning streak in doubles. On the all-time leaderboard, Vidanovic has totaled 159 singles and doubles wins, the most in Keiser program history.



 

Golfers of the Week

Sharon Shan, SCAD Savannah | So. - Shenzhen, Guangdong, China

Shan helped lead the Bees to a first-place finish in a field of 13 by a 17-stroke margin. The sophomore won the individual title after tying for first and then winning the playoff.




 

Flag Football Players of the Week

Adrianna Cavalotti, Keiser | Sr. - WR/DB - Staten Island, N.Y.

Adrianna Cavalotti led a Keiser defense that registered a pair of shutout victories on Saturday. Cavalotti and the Seahawks defense forced five interceptions, increasing their total to 42 on the season (No. 1 in the nation). The senior defensive back produced seven flag pulls and one interception (a 15-yard pick six) in the two games. She also had three pass breakups. She increased her career interception total to 25 (school record) as the it marked her sixth interception for a touchdown this season setting the new single-season mark at Keiser. She also collected to receiving touchdowns on the day. On the year, Cavalotti has recorded 58 flag pulls (No. 2 in the NAIA).


13205Offensive Player of the Week
Keelin Coleman, Thomas | Fr. - Quarterback - Daytona Beach, Fla.

The freshman was a huge factor in a 2-0 week for the Night Hawks. She ended the week going 34-42 for 418 yards and nine touchdowns while also having a completion percentage of 81 percent. Against Webber she completed 90 percent of her passes for 238 yards and five touchdowns, four of which came in the first half.


 

Track & Field Athletes of the Week

13232Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Dario Laing, Southeastern | Jr. - St. Catherine, Jamaica

Laing dominated the NAIA competition this weekend. Earning an NAIA 'A' Standard in the 4x400m relay. He dominated the 400m Hurdles with an NAIA 'A' Standard, first place finish, and NAIA third best time of 52.49.





13160Men's Field Athlete of the Week
David Buggs, Florida Memorial | So. - Kissimmee, Fla.

FMU quarterback David Buggs continues to shine, adding another third place finish to his resume in the men's discus, throwing a distance of 45.20 meters (PR), breaking his previous record from earlier this season, catapulting to the top of the SUN Conference.




13054Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Maci Mills, Southeastern | Jr. - Birmingham, Ala.

Mills topped all NAIA competition, broke the Southeastern school record, set a new personal best, and ran the second best time in the NAIA with her blistering 2:11.68 in the 800m Dash. She placed third in a field of 85, only behind NCAA DII competition.

Molly From, Ave Maria | So. - West Chicago, Ill.

Molly From continues to improve at the high jump, hitting a mark of 1.63 meters over the weekend. That is a personal best for her and the 19th highest jump this season in the NAIA.
