TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the players of the week for men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball for the week of September 15, 2025. This is the first women's golf award of 2025-26.

Football Players of the Week
Defensive Player of the Week
Jamil Jones, Southeastern
Junior | Macclenny, Fla. | Defensive Back
Notes: One interception is fun, how about two? Jamil Jones proved to be too much for the RV Reinhardt Eagles offense, securing two picks, additionally he secured three total tackles. One assisted, and two solo as the Fire smothered the Eagles 41-20.
Offensive Player of the Week
Jocquet Jiles, Southeastern
Junior | Auburndale, Fla. | Running Back
Notes: Jocquet Jiles ran around, through, and all over the RV Reinhardt Eagles defense. Racking up 127 yards on 12 carries, producing two touchdowns in a dominant 41-20 win over the Eagles. He averaged 10.6 yards per carry.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Joel McGrath, Southeastern
Junior | Lakeland, Fla. | Kicker
Notes: Joel McGrath was kept busy in the 41-20 win over RV Reinhardt, contributing five points on 5/6 on extra points. Additionally, he punted three times for 75 yards, and pinned the Eagles inside the 20 yard line twice.

Abigail Willis, New College of Florida
Senior | Panama City, Fla. | Middle Blocker
Notes: Willis had seven kills and four blocks, including on three plays in a row in NCF's sweep of Southeastern and then lead the team with 16 kills in a sweep of Florida Memorial. On the week she killed 23 of her 39 attacks (53.8%).

Notes: Helped the Warriors to a 5 set thriller win over Crooked Lake Rivals Warner with 41 digs and a service ace. Added another 16 against Keiser for 57 on the week.
Setter of the Week
Rafaela Domingos, New College of Florida
Senior | Araraquara, Brazil | Setter
Notes: The defending NAIA Setter of the Week was once again outstanding for the Mighty Banyans. She led the team to sweeps of both Southeastern and Florida Memorial with 64 total assists (10.67 per set) and also added 18 digs in a sweep of Southeastern.

Graduate Student | Northampton, England | Goalkeeper
Notes: Murray-Hawkins was given the task of #22 Georgia Gwinnett College, to which he proved up to the task. Corralling three saves, working all 90 minutes and forcing a 0-0 tie.
Offensive Player of the Week
Mateo Rolon, Ave Maria
Sophomore | Capitan Bermudez, Santa Fe, Argentina | Midfielder
Notes: Reigning Player of the Week Mateo Rolon somehow put together an even better week this week. After scoring the first hat trick in three years, Rolon netted three more goals against Texas College, becoming the first Gyrene to record hat tricks in back-to-back games in Ave Maria history. Rolon also added two assists in the match against Texas College for a total of 8 points. In Saturday's match against Paul Quinn, Rolon scored his seventh goal in three matches and brought his point total for the week up to 10.

Grace Banker, Southeastern

Notes: Banker was the lone member of the Fire to play the entire 90 minutes. Next to scoring the game winner, Banker orchestrated the Fire defense. Helping limit the Mighty Banyans to just six shots total and only two on frame. Leading the Fire a 1-0 shutout, their fourth shutout of the season.
Offensive Player of the Week

Notes: In a game that looked like it was headed towards a tie, Del Valle took a through ball and buried it in the net in the 89th minute to stun New College of Florida on the road.

Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
David Giles, Ave Maria
Freshman | Reading, Pa.
Notes: David Giles was phenomenal in his first race for the Gyrenes, taking first place. The freshman beat out his teammate, grad transfer Donavan Mattson, but just nine-tenths of second to win the race. The next non-Ave Maria runner was almost 30 seconds behind Giles.
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Esther Shipley, Ave Maria
Freshman | Potomac Falls, Va.
Notes: Esther Shipley finished first among all the NAIA runners Friday at the STU Bob Cat Invitational, and finished fourth behind three runners from NCAA DII Nova Southeastern. The Freshman excelled in her first race as a Gyrene, averaging 6:19.3 per mile.

Notes: Led the Bobcats at the Coastal Georgia Men's Fall Invitational behind a 214 (-2) 54-hole card.
Women's Golfer of the Week

Freshman | Fernandina Beach, Fla.
Notes: Sadaly Campbell couldn't have asked for a better start to her collegiate career. Scoring a three-under par in the second round, boosting herself from sixth place to first. Taking the individual title, and helping lead her team to a first place finish. Claiming the event for the second straight year.
