2026 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships Preview

TAMPA, Fla. – The 2026 Sun Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships are set for Saturday, November 7, on the campus of Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Florida.

The Championships will feature a seven-team field for both the men’s and women’s events, including Ave Maria, Keiser, New College of Florida, SCAD, Southeastern, St. Thomas, and Warner.

SCAD Savannah enters this year’s meet as the defending women’s champion, having recorded a perfect team score in each of the past two seasons. The Bees will look to claim their sixth consecutive conference title, while Ave Maria enters as the defending men’s champion. The Gyrenes captured their program’s first conference title a season ago, earning their first-ever appearance at the NAIA National Championship, and will look to repeat as champions this year.

The men’s 8,000-meter race will begin at 7:45 a.m., followed by the women’s 6,000-meter race at 8:30 a.m. An awards ceremony for both championships will take place following the conclusion of the women’s race. Each team’s top five runners will contribute to the team score, with the lowest total earning the conference title and an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships, scheduled for Friday, November 20, 2026, in Vancouver, Washington.
