TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the players of the week for baseball, women's flag football, men's golf, women's lacrosse, men's and women's outdoor track & field, men's and women's tennis, and softball for the week of April 13, 2026.

Baseball Players of the Week
Player of the Week
Cade Parry, Southeastern
Junior | Omaha, Neb. | Infielder
Notes: Cade Parry proved a destructive force this weekend. In the four game stretch with the Gyrenes, he collected seven hits in thirteen at bats, finishing with a .538 average. He used those seven hits to drive home 10 runs, and score five himself, boasting a 1.000 slugging percentage with a .571 on base percentage. He took one walk, and added a stolen base.
Pitcher of the Week
Jamal Johnson, Florida Memorial
Senior | West Palm Beach, Fla. | Right-Handed Pitcher
Notes: Johnson had a stellar weekend against NCF. He earned not one, but TWO wins during the series, starting in game two. He played all seven innings, allowing only one earned run and had seven strikeouts, with an ERA of 1.29. In the final game of the series, he came in relief and was pivotal in the Lions 17-13 win, allowing only one hit and one walk.

Rylie Harwood, New College of Florida

Notes: Harwood put together a monster Senior Day weekend series for the Mighty Banyans as she went 5-for-8 at the dish with a home run, double and six RBI's. She hit .625 on the weekend adding a walk and totaling nine bases.
Pitcher of the Week
Edan Playa, Southeastern
Junior | Miami, Fla. | Pitcher
Notes: Playa was incredible this weekend, shutting down a high powered No. 23 Coastal Georgia offense. An offense that averages just over six runs a game, holding them to one run over two games. In her start, she went the distance, all seven innings, giving up only two hits, and striking out five. She came in in relief in her second go in game three, helping to pitch a shutout of the Mariners, adding a strikeout. On the week, she posted a 0.70 ERA, a 0.50 WHIP, added a save and a win to her resume. Advancing her personal record to 13-1 on the week, and helping aid the Fire to the top of the Sun Conference.

Lilly Phillips, Life
Senior | Johns Creek, Ga. | Defender
Notes: Phillips totaled 11 ground balls and eight caused turnovers in two games as a defender. She also contributed six goals and six assists in two wins for the Running Eagles.
Offensive Player of the Week
Hannah Leon, Life
Senior | Peachtree City, Ga. | Attacker
Notes: Leon helped lead the Running Eagles to wins over Georgetown (Ky.) and conference opponent St. Thomas, totaling 12 goals—nine of which came against St. Thomas. She also added six caused turnovers and four ground balls.

Gates Glanton, Coastal Georgia
Freshman | Fortson, Ga.
Notes: Playing the course for the first time, freshman Gates Glanton led Coastal Georgia with a low round of 70 to help defeat SCAD Savannah 289-306.

Junior | Panama City, Panama | Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
Notes: Angeline Bunting anchored the Royals’ defense with a strong all-around performance, totaling 10 flag pulls, one assisted tackle, one interception, and two pass breakups on the week. Her defensive presence helped limit opposing offenses and maintain momentum as the Royals continued their historic 2026 campaign. With her contributions, Warner extended its unbeaten streak to 18 consecutive wins and clinched the SUN Conference Regular Season title for the first time in program history.
Offensive Player of the Week
Cheyenne Brooks, Life
Sophomore | Marietta, Ga. | Quarterback
Notes: Brooks completed 31-of-51 passes on the week, totaling 11 touchdowns and averaging 9.5 yards per attempt. She helped lead her team to two wins, adding a rushing touchdown. In all, she totaled nearly 500 yards, averaging 243 yards per game, with a 208.1 efficiency rating.

Heber Santos, Keiser
Senior | Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal
Notes: Santos put together an outstanding and efficient week, helping lead his team to three convincing victories while remaining undefeated in both singles and doubles play. Competing at the No. 4 and No. 5 singles positions, Santos went a perfect 3-0, earning straight-set wins in all matches. In doubles, Santos partnered with Shaheed Alam, primarily at the No. 3 position, and posted a perfect 3-0 record, securing wins of 6-0, 6-1, and 6-1. Overall, Santos finished the week with a flawless 6-0 combined record, dropping just six total games across all matches.
Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Violet Apisah, Keiser
Senior | Sydney, Australia
Notes: Apisah delivered a dominant, undefeated week at the top of the lineup, leading her team to three shutout victories while excelling in both singles and doubles play. Competing at the No. 1 position in every match, Apisah posted a perfect 3-0 record in singles. In doubles, she partnered with Patricia Apisah at the No. 1 spot to go a perfect 3-0, surrendering just one game across all three matches with wins of 6-1, 6-0, and 6-0. Overall, Apisah compiled a 5-0 combined record while allowing only three total games across singles and doubles.

Notes: Finished first among collegiate participants in the 200 meter behind an A-standard effort.
Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Casey Wood, Keiser
Junior | Punta Gorda, Fla.
Notes: Casey Wood led the way in the field events with a first-place finish in the shot put, recording a 16.58m throw that met the NAIA B standard. He added two more podium finishes with second place in both the discus (41.14m) and hammer throw (38.47m), showcasing his consistency and scoring ability across multiple throwing events.
Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Blessing Ogundiran, Warner
Freshman | Lagos, Nigeria
Notes: Blessing Ogundiran continues to rewrite history, proving her place as a top contender across all divisions. Ogundiran took home gold in the 100m at the 2026 South Florida Invitational, outrunning over 40 athletes across the NCAA and NAIA. Posting a time of 10.98, Ogundiran now sits atop the leaderboard for the fastest time in the 100m for all of women’s collegiate track!
Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Caitlyn O'Brien, Ave Maria
Senior | Pewaukee, Wisc.
Notes: Caitlyn O'Brien competed in the Hurricane Alumni Invitational over the weekend and was the only NAIA athlete to compete in the Heptathlon against NCAA Division I competition. With a score of 4844, she has the second highest score in the NCAA this year. She won the 100m hurdles and had good showings in the other field events.
