Dr. Elfie Farchmin is an associate professor at Webber International University where she teaches both undergraduate and graduate level classes in the Sport Business Management department. As well as teaching, Dr. Farchmin has been the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) at Webber since 2004, serving as an integral link between the athletic department and the faculty on campus. Dr. Farchmin first came to Webber in 2003.
Dr. Farchmin was honored with the NAIA’s Wally Schwartz Faculty Athletics Representative of the Year Award for the 2015-16 academic year, and most recently she was named as The Sun Conference's Faculty Athletics Representative of the Year for 2019-20.
Dr. Farchmin has done a wonderful job as the Faculty Athletics Representative at Webber, where she also fills the roles of eligibility chair and Associate Dean of TItle IX Compliance. Additionally, she has also been the eligibility chair for The Sun Conference since 2008.
In her role at the FAR, Dr. Farchmin is responsible for of ensuring that all participants in intercollegiate competition at Webber are eligible in accordance with the rules and regulations of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics prior to their representing the institution in any manner.
As Eligibility Chair for The Sun Conference, Dr. Farchmin is responsible for the review and evaluation of all Official Eligibility Certificates submitted by all member institutions. The chair is also a member of the Conference Eligibility Committee and shall have the responsibility to administer eligibility rules and policies within the Conference as adopted by the Conference and NAIA.
Dr. Farchmin graduated with her doctorate degree from Florida State University in sport administration. Prior to her time at FSU, Dr. Farchmin attended Transylvania University where she competed in both field hockey (three time MVP, one time all-state) and basketball (one time MVP).
