MIAMI, Fla. (Jan. 8, 2021) – This week’s Sun Conference Women’s Basketball Game of the Week features the Webber International Warriors (9-3, 5-2 TSC) at the Southeastern Fire (9-2, 7-0 TSC) on Saturday, January 9. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
The Warriors enter this week’s game of the week having won three of their last four contests. WIU is coming off a 77-71 loss to St. Thomas on Thursday and currently sits in third place in the TSC Standings. The Warriors are averaging 71.4 points per game on 40.7 percent shooting from the floor. WIU is led by
Paris Copeland, who comes into Saturday’s contest averaging 17.3 points per game on 43.8 percent shooting.
The Fire enter this week’s Game of the Week riding an eight-game winning streak and carry an perfect 7-0 record in conference action in their meeting with WIU. SEU is coming off a 75-55 win over Coastal Georgia last Saturday and is averaging 74.6 points per game on 74.6 percent shooting from the floor. Leading the Fire in scoring is
Haley Howarth, who comes into this weekend averaging 13.5 points per game while shooting 35.9 percent from the floor.
Southeastern has won 10 of the last 11 meetings between the two teams. However, the Warriors won the last outing, defeating the Fire, 91-83 (OT), in last year’s Sun Conference Semifinals.
