Alohnna-Elyse Lee (Track) and
Jades Hines (Field) have been named the Sun Conference Outdoor Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 14.
Sun Conference Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Alohnna-Elyse Lee – Webber International – FR – Tampa, Florida
Won the women's 100-meter dash at the South Florida Collegiate Challenge Meet III as Webber accounted for two of the top three and three of the top 10 finishers in the event. She set a new personal record not only in the 100, but in the women's long jump competition in which she placed third at 4.97 meters.
This is Lee’s first TSC weekly award of the season and first of her career.
Sun Conference Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Jade Hines – Webber International – JR – Hampton, Florida
Hines won the women's long jump at the South Florida Collegiate Challenge Meet III as Webber accounted for each of the top three and four of the top six finishers in the event. She set a new personal record not only in the long jump, but also in the women's 100-meter dash in which she placed third (12.68 seconds). Hines' winning mark in the long jump was only four centimeters off the national standard.
This is Hines’ first TSC weekly award (outdoor) of the season and second of her career (outdoor).
