MIAMI, Fla. (March 18, 2021) – This week’s Sun Conference Baseball Series of the Week will feature the No. 25-ranked Webber International Warriors (17-10, 7-2 TSC) visiting the No. 2-ranked Southeastern Fire (24-1, 5-1 TSC) in a three-game set beginning Friday, March 19.
The Warriors come into this week’s series having won eight of their last 11 games, including a three-game sweep of Thomas (Feb. 26-27). WIU is hitting .273 with nine home runs and 136 RBI.
Norberto Navarro is hitting .375 with three triples, 10 RBI, and 11 stolen bases. The Warrior pitching staff has registered a 3.72 ERA (No. 2 in the conference) with 253 strikeouts in 220 innings of action.
Bryce McDonald (2-0) has tallied a 2.31 ERA with a team-high 42 strikeouts in 39 innings pitched.
The Fire have won 10-straight games coming into this week’s Series of the Week and owns a 5-1 mark in league action. SEU leads the conference in hitting with a .354 batting average. The Fire have registered a league-best 60 home runs and 250 RBI (No. 1 in the conference).
Pedro Castellano enters this series hitting .411 with eight home runs, 36 RBI, and seven stolen bases. SEU’s hurlers have recorded a 3.15 ERA (No. 1 in the conference) with 272 strikeouts (No. 1 in the conference) in 197 and one-third innings pitched.
Christian Camacho has notched five wins on the season with an ERA of 2.88 and 50 strikeouts in 40 and two-third innings of action.
Southeastern has won four of the last five meetings between the two teams.
