MIAMI, Fla. (April 28, 2022) – The 2022 Sun Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Award Winners were announced on Thursday.
Three awards (Coach of the Year, Most Outstanding Track Athlete and Most Outstanding Field Athlete) were voted on by the league’s nine head coaches a day after the 2022 championship. All other awards were announced during the final day of the 2022 Sun Conference Championship.

Most Outstanding Track Performer
Marvin Williams, St. Thomas
Marvin Williams hit the Conference records in the 110 Hurdles and the 400 hurdles in times of 13.81 and 51.52. Marvin is now currently ranked 1st in the 110 hurdles in the NAIA and 3rd in the 400 hurdles. Marvin is also part of the 4x100 relay who took 2nd at Conference with a time of 41.24 and the 4x400 relay that took 4th. Marvin is a graduate student at STU and is majoring in Sports Administration.
Most Outstanding Field Performer
Zachary Nichols, Southeastern
Zachary took 1st overall in the Hammer in a new conference record 57.54m, 1st overall in the Javelin in a new school record and conference record 59.38m, 4th in the Discus in 43.96m, and 3rd in the Shot Put 13.36m. He scored 31 points to help lead his team to their 3rd consecutive Sun Conference title.
