2022 Sun Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Award Winners Announced

MIAMI, Fla. (April 28, 2022) – The 2022 Sun Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Award Winners were announced on Thursday.
 
Three awards (Coach of the Year, Most Outstanding Track Athlete and Most Outstanding Field Athlete) were voted on by the league’s nine head coaches a day after the 2022 championship. All other awards were announced during the final day of the 2022 Sun Conference Championship.

Most Outstanding Track Performer
Jaqual Bush, Southeastern
 
Jaqual won the 100m in 11.88 seconds which is "A" standard for the national championships, she won the 200m in a new conference record 23.68 "A" standard and currently #3 nationally, she ran 2nd leg on the winning 4x100 relay team in 46.69, and she also ran 3rd leg on the winning 4x400 relay 3:52.23. She scored 25 points to help lead her team to their 3rd consecutive Sun Conference Title. Jaqual successfully defended her 100m and 200m titles from 2021.
 
Most Outstanding Field Performer
Charle Alexander, Southeastern
 
Charle was 3rd in the Shot Put in a new personal best and school record 11.97m, 1st in the Javelin in a new personal best and school record 34.00m, 1st in the Discus in 37.52m, and 2nd in the Hammer in a new personal best 36.02m. She scored a total of 34 points at the Conference Championships and broke the Freshman record at SEU in all 4 throwing events.
