TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference is excited to announce that the 2024 and 2025 Baseball Tournament Championships will take place at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Fla.
“JetBlue Park is one of the finest baseball venues not only in The Sun Conference footprint but anywhere in the country,” Sun Conference Commissioner
Dustin Wilke commented. “This was made possible through our partnership with Lee County and support from our host institution, Ave Maria University, both of which we greatly appreciate, and we look forward to continuing to do a great championship experience for our teams and fans.”
Both championships will be hosted by Ave Maria University and spear-headed by Lee County's Sports Development and Parks & Recreation departments, with the help of the Lee County Sports Housing service.
“Lee County is pleased to once again partner with the Sun Conference to host its Baseball Championships in 2024 and 2025," Lee County Sports Development Executive Director
Jeff Mielke said. "This event is yet another example of Lee County’s economic recovery efforts and the resiliency this community has shown every day during the last year. We hope the fans of the Sun Conference schools will attend the event and explore our community as we come back even stronger than before Hurricane Ian.”
JetBlue Park was opened in 2012 and has a total capacity of nearly 11,000 fans. It serves primarily as the home of spring training for the Boston Red Sox. The ballpark’s field has the same dimensions as the historic Fenway Park and mimics the “Green Monster” left field wall.
The 2024 SUN Tournament Championship will take place from May 2-5 and the 2025 tournament will occur from May 1-4.
The 2023 Tournament Championship was won by Regular Season Champion Southeastern in 12-3 and 19-4 victories over Webber International.
