TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces its major award winners for the 2023-24 men's golf season as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Keiser's Isac Wallin is this year's Player of the Year. Wallin is currently the No. 1 men's golfer in the NAIA and has accumulated four wins this season. He also has a 69.3 scoring avergage on the year and a 96.3% winning percentage.
Anthony Amoroso III is awarded this season's Freshman of the Year award. Amoroso led the team with a 72.83 scoring average during the regular season, including 4 top-5 finishes, highlighted by 3rd place finish at Oldfield Classic. Amoroso played in all 12 events this season.
Coastal Georgia's Zayne Hilderbrand is the 2024 Champion of Character recipient. Hilderbrand has volunteered his time at a number of events during his time at CCGA including working a charity putting contest. He also was just awarded the Outstanding Student Entrepreneur award from the Business School and Dean of Students on campus. Hilderbrand has a 74.2 adjusted stroke average and has played in 19 out of 22 rounds this season for the Mariners.
Southeastern's David Joyner is this year's Coach of the Year. In his second year at the helm, he has led the Fire to a second-overall seeding in the upcoming Sun Conference Championship. After three tournament wins this season, including their own SEU Invitational, the Fire are currently ranked No. 10 in the NAIA.
