TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the players of the week for men's and women's basketball for the week of December 8, 2025.

All four awards are based on performances from December 1 – December 7.
Men's Basketball Players of the Week
Defensive Player of the Week
Alex Sherwood, Ave Maria
Junior | Neenah, Wis. | Forward
Notes: Alex Sherwood had another great defensive week recording back-to-back double figure rebound games, and getting five blocks against Florida College. Sherwood also scored double digit points as well, giving him seven double-doubles on the season, which is tied for the third-most in school history.
Offensive Player of the Week
Diego Eslava, New College of Florida
Sophomore | Seville, Spain | Guard
Notes: Eslava had a pair of monster performances on the week as he scored 37 points and shot 7-for-12 from three in a win at Trinity of College of Jacksonville and went for 26 points in a home loss to FNU. Overall, Eslava averaged 31.0 points per game on the week and shot 48.4% from three.

Defensive Player of the Week
Camryn Patterson, Webber International
Sophomore | Orlando, Fla. | Guard
Notes: Patterson had another huge game on the defensive end, finishing the game with 9 steals, 16 rebounds (9 defensive) and 1 block. She has been was also 2 assists and the 1 steal away from another triple double.
Offensive Player of the Week
Bethany Howard, Warner
Sophomore | Nashville, Tenn. | Guard/Forward
Notes: Former Freshman of the Year, Bethany Howard, had a career night against the Fort Lauderdale Eagles. Howard recorded a career high 24 points, going 11-24 from the field and 2-4 from the charity stripe. Not only did she dominate in the paint, but in true fashion converted most of the 20 points scored off of Eagles turnovers with 6 steals.
