SUN Players of the Week - March 24, 2025

TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week honorees for the week of March 24, 2025.

All awards are based on performances from March 17 - March 23.
 

Baseball Players of the Week Presented by WinWon

Simon Grinberg, Keiser | Sr. - Outfielder - Kitchener, Ontario

Simon Grinberg delivered a stellar performance at the plate this week, putting up an impressive .727 batting average across four games. He went 8-for-11, scoring seven runs and driving in seven more, while also collecting a double and a home run.

Aaron Robertson, Southeastern | Sr. - Left-handed Pitcher - Everett, Wash.

Robertson showed up and showed out against the visiting #7 Webber International Warriors, going all seven innings and blanking the Warriors for his second consecutive complete game shutout. Striking out three batters, and dropping his total ERA to 0.82.



 

Softball Players of the Week Presented by WinWon

Isabella Andujar, St. Thomas | Sr. - Catcher - Eustis, Fla.

Andujar had a great week, recording 6 hits including three home runs and a double against Keiser. Anduhar also notched four runs and four rbis this week.

Anna Toon, St. Thomas | Sr. - Pitcher/Utility - Great Falls, Mont.

Anna Toon picked up three wins this week and 21 strikeouts across four appearances and 24.1 innings pitched.





 

Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

13154Defensive Player of the Week
Chloe Zundel, SCAD Savannah | Jr. - Goalkeeper - Santa Clarita, Calif.

Zundel picked two wins for the Bees this week as SCAD went 2-0 to remain unbeaten in SUN action. The junior reached her 100th career save on February 22 against Lawrence Tech and is now 22 away from 200 career saves. She is currently fourth in the NAIA in save percentage.




13199Offensive Player of the Week
MacKenzie Gibaud, Keiser | Jr. - Attacker - Rochester, N.Y.

The Seahawks continue to roll with a new star attacker every week and this week it was MacKenzie Gibaud who took center stage. Against Division III Farmingdale State, she tallied a pair of goals while creating pressure on the backline of the Rams. Two days later, against No. 10 Life, Gibaud tallied five goals and an assist, contributing 40% of the Keiser offensive production. She is up to 25 goals this season which is already one off her season-best mark.


 

Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week

The Adams duo went a perfect 4-0 on the week at the ones to help the Rams improve to 9-0 record in Sun Conference play. Mobile defeated Truett McConnell, St. Andrews, Brenau, and Spartanburg Methodist in this weekend's northeast pod. 

 

Tennis Players of the Week

13148Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Diego Menendez, Southeastern | Sr. - Gijon, Spain

Menendez is building on his incredible senior campaign, and this week was the most impressive yet. Two top 15 team wins, and two top seven upsets in singles play. Kicking off the week with #15 Middle Georgia State, Menendez with Fernandez coasted through singles and dominated the #7 player in the NAIA in straight sets. Against St. Thomas, the Fire and Menendez finished the match in short order and completing his singles match before any other match finished their first set. The most impressive win of the week, came in the Fire's first ever win over the Keiser Seahawks. Menendez and Fernandez fell in their doubles, before Menendez bounced back with a three set thriller that was the match decider, and an upset of the #2 Shaheed Alam.

Eloise de Mooij, Keiser | Fr. - Noordwijk, the Netherlands

Keiser women's tennis team continues to dominate and the unsung part of those wins may be Eloise de Mooij. The first-year player from the Netherlands is now 10-1 in the spring with a perfect 9-0 record on court three. 




 

Golfers of the Week

Felix Straub, SCAD Savannah | So. - Munich, Germany

Straub led the Bees against Savannah State and USCB with a first-place finish, leading the Bees to a team win in tough course conditions.

Yunyi Luo, SCAD Savannah | Fr. - Shenzhen, GuangDong, China

Luo led the Bees to a first-place tournament finish for the fourth consecutive year as she tied for second with an eight-over, three-round score of 224.




 

Flag Football Players of the Week

Adrianna Cavalotti, Keiser | Sr. - WR/DB - Staten Island, N.Y.

Adrianna Cavalotti had a solid week for the Seahawks on the defensive side of the ball. The native of Staten Island, N.Y., record a total of eight flag pulls for the Seahawks this past week. She opened the week with a sack and a pick-six versus the Life (Ga.) Running Eagles. She also grabbed a receiving TD in the game as well. She followed that up with a six-flag pull performance at Thomas (Ga.).



13205Offensive Player of the Week
Keelin Coleman, Thomas | Fr. - Quarterback - West Palm Beach, Fla.

The Freshman was clutch in the game vs Keiser. She came in late in the second quarter and put on a show, completing 19 of 29 for 214 yards and two touchdowns and threw the game winning extra point to beat the undefeated Seahawks.




 

Track & Field Athletes of the Week

13200Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Yanis Le Mouillour, Keiser | Fr. - Queven, France

The freshman continued his electric season by placing first overall in the men's 800m. His mark gave him an NAIA B standard qualification and a new Keiser record.





13206Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Jacob Wells, Webber International | Sr. - New Port Richey, Fla.

National qualifier in the javelin, his mark places him #2 in the NAIA (60.31m).






13201Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Virginia Tan, Keiser | Fr. - Gebenstorf, Switzerland

Tan finished second overall in a loaded field of competition made up primarily of NCAA DI and DII athletes.






13207Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Amealia Smith, Florida Memorial | Sr. - Kingston, Jamaica

Smith earned a fifth place finish in the women's long jump, posting a mark of 5.82 meters, good for NAIA B standard.
