SUN Players of the Week - April 28, 2025

TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week honorees for the week of April 28, 2025.

Baseball Players of the Week Presented by WinWon

Dawson Schumann, Warner | So. - First Baseman - Fort Worth, Texas

Dawson Schumann, a silent threat! Going 6-12/.500 on the weekend, but 3-4/.750 at the plate with 2 homeruns, 5 RBIs (6 total in the series) in Game 1 of the series against Florida Memorial.

Noah Harsch, Warner | Sr. - Left-handed Pitcher - Bradenton, Fla.

Noah Harsch aka Mr. Warner had a historic day against Florida Memorial not only achieving a career high 13 strikeouts, but marked his name in Warner Baseball history becoming the all-time career leader in strikeouts with 268 breaking a 24-year old record!



 

Softball Players of the Week Presented by WinWon

Raylei McKinney, Southeastern | So. - Outfielder - Brandon, Miss.

Raylei McKinney was one home run short of a home run cycle Saturday afternoon. After going 1-3 in the first game, she took her batting to another level. Hitting a solo shot in game two, and a two and three run bomb in game three. Thanks to this, her .571 average was accompanied by a 1.857 slugging percentage as she accounted for six RBIs on just four hits. Additionally, she scored three runs and converted on her lone putout opportunity.

Edan Playa, Southeastern | So. - Pitcher - Miami, Fla.

Edan Playa was part of a trifecta of complete game shutouts in the three game weekend for the Fire. In her outing she diced up Florida Memorial batters, striking out eight and only allowing four hits. Finishing the game with a k/9, and improving her ERA to 1.43.



 

Track & Field Athletes of the Week

12969Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Davien Worrels, Southeastern | Sr. - Wesley Chapel, Fla.

Davien Worrels was nothing short of incredible this past weekend. Helping aid the Fire to a 89 point victory in the Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Worrels was named the Men's Most Outstanding Performer after securing 28.5 points for the Fire. He ran the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4x100m relay. In the 100m he placed second, in the 200m he notched a NAIA 'B' Standard, in the 400m he ran an NAIA best, and 'A' and 'B' Standard time of 46.36 which won the event. And in the 4x100m Relay he ran the final leg of a blistering NAIA 'A' and 'B' Standard and Sun Conference Record time of 39.83.


13314Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Josiah Dunlap, Southeastern | Fr. - Panama City, Fla.

Dunlap stepped up big for the Fire in their sixth consecutive Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Securing an early 10 points as he took the Decathlon for his first ever outdoor medal.






13313Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Talia Sullivan, SCAD Savannah | Sr. - Lustleigh, Devon, England

Sullivan had an outstanding performance at the Sun Conference Championship. Running over 10 miles in total, the senior won three events, including the 10,000 m, where she earned an NAIA "B" standard.






13316Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Ezarya Dale, Keiser | So. - Fort Myers, Fla.

Dale took home two conference titles in the shot put, and the hammer throw, helping the Keiser throwing crew dominate this weekend's championship meet.
