2025 Sun Conference Men's Soccer Players to Watch

TAMPA, Fla. – Listed below are the Sun Conference Men’s Soccer Players to Watch for the 2025 season as submitted by each program.

The season commences on Thursday, August 21st with conference play to begin on Saturday, September 27. The Sun Conference Tournament will start with quarterfinal matchups on Wednesday, November 5.

Andrija Vujakovic

Sophomore | Uzice, Serbia | Goalkeeper

Notes: Was AMU’s only Men’s Soccer All-Conference player being named to the Second Team last season and was also honored as Ave Maria Athletics’ Male Newcomer of the Year. Had the best single season for an Ave Maria goalkeeper in program history with four shutouts and 1.68 goals against average. Finished the year with 86 saves and two wins. Entering his sophomore year, he is one shutout away from breaking the career record at AMU.

Justin Bangura 

Sophomore | Berkshire, England | Midfielder

Notes: Justin Bangura was a key playmaker for the Seahawks in 2024, appearing in 16 matches with 14 starts. Logging 936 minutes, he tallied four goals and three assists, including two game-winners. Bangura shined brightest in the postseason, delivering two goals and an assist in the opening round of the playoffs, including a strike just two minutes into the match that set the tone for the Seahawks victory over No. 22 Union College. His impact on both ends of the field earned him Second-Team All-Sun Conference honors.

Notes: Appeared in 13 games, starting in seven. Recorded three goals and two assists on the season, recording the first goal of the postseason for the Fire in their 2-1 Sun Conference quarterfinal overtime win over Webber. Named Sun Conference offensive player of the week for the week of 9/16/24 after scoring goals in back to back wins over RV Thomas University and Ave Maria University.

Notes: 2024 Second Team All-Sun Conference honoree... scored five goals with one assist in 12 games played... found the back of the net in each of his first four games.

Vlad Andersen 

Senior | Oslo, Norway | Forward

Notes: Vlad Andersen enters his fourth season with the Royals as a key contributor at the forward position. A native of Oslo, Norway, Andersen continues to bring energy, skill, and experience to the pitch. During the 2024 season, he appeared in 17 matches with 11 starts, logging 1,220 minutes of play. He tallied six goals and three assists while registering 36 total shots, including 22 on goal, posting an impressive .611 shots-on-goal percentage. As the Royals prepare for the 2025 campaign, Andersen’s leadership and proven ability to produce in critical moments will be vital to the team’s success. His blend of talent and experience positions him as a driving force for Warner’s offensive attack this season.

Notes: Perez returns to the Warrior Attack after an All-Conference Second Team Selection in 2024. Perez will look to be a driving force under new Head Coach Bryan Mejia and help lead the Warriors to the postseason.
