Notes: Alex Sherwood was a force to be reckoned with in the paint, collecting double-digit rebounds in both games and totaling 11 blocks on the week. Sherwood notched six blocks against Keiser and then five against St. Thomas. Sherwood has now tied or broke the school record for blocks in a game coming into the season five times. On the rebounding side, 19 of his 25 boards were off the defensive glass as Sherwood did a great job at limiting opponent's possessions.

Notes: Jonathan Effertz took over the first ever Top-10 matchup in the Sun Conference as he scored a career-high 31 points and single handedly led the #5 Gyrenes over the #6 Seahawks. Effertz was lethal from downtown as he sank seven of his 10 shots from behind the arc. It was the most three-pointers hit in a game by a single Gyrene in a couple seasons. In the win against St. Thomas on Saturday, Effertz hit double figures again as he brought home 10 points for a total of 41 on the week.
