2025-26 Men's Basketball Specialty Award Winners Announced

TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference has announced its specialty award winners for the 2025-26 men's basketball season.

Keiser’s Camerin James was named The Sun Conference Player of the Year after leading the Seahawks to a share of the 2025–26 Regular Season Championship. James finished second in the league in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game overall and 19.1 points per game in conference play, while ranking fifth in field goal percentage at 55.3 percent overall and 58.5 percent in conference action. He recorded four games of 25 or more points this season and was a two-time Offensive Player of the Week honoree. Defensively, James led the league in steals during conference play with 30 and ranked eighth in rebounds with 101 total boards, averaging 6.3 rebounds per game against conference opponents.

Keiser’s Cameron Baldwin was named The Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Year after anchoring a Seahawks defense that led the league in opponent points allowed at just 68.4 per game. Baldwin paced the conference with 79 total blocks, averaging 2.9 per game, and ranked seventh in conference play in rebounds at 6.7 per game. He also ranked second in the league in overall field goal percentage among players with at least 100 attempts, shooting an efficient 64.8 percent from the floor. Baldwin was recognized as Defensive Player of the Week eight times this season, the most of any player in the conference.

Southeastern’s LaDavian King was named The Sun Conference Freshman of the Year after making a strong impact in his debut season with the Fire. King finished as the team’s sixth-leading scorer, totaling 209 points on the year while averaging 8.0 points per game overall and 7.3 points per game in conference play. He also averaged 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game and ranked 12th in the league in assists with 75 overall, including 39 during conference action, highlighting his all-around contribution as a first-year standout.

New College of Florida’s Jonathan Olodude was named the Champions of Character award recipient for his leadership and service on and off the court. According to head coach Andrew Wingreen, Olodude consistently embodies the NAIA’s five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership, bringing positive energy each day and placing the needs of others before his own.

Olodude volunteers at his local church through photography and youth mentorship, while also serving as an athletic department intern assisting with event operations and content creation. He additionally supports the New College Foundation and the Career Engagement Opportunity office, representing the institution with integrity. Wingreen noted that Olodude’s selfless leadership and commitment to service truly reflect the spirit of a Champion of Character.

Keiser head coach Marcus “Chief” Bryant was named The Sun Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the Seahawks to their second consecutive regular season title, sharing the 2025–26 championship and earning the right to host the semifinal and championship rounds in back to back seasons. Keiser, an NAIA Top 10 program, finished the regular season with a 23–4 overall record and a 13–3 mark in conference play, averaging 84.9 points per game while allowing just 68.4 for a plus 16.5 scoring margin. Under Bryant’s leadership, four Seahawks earned All Conference honors this season.
