Sun Conference Releases 2021 Women’s Soccer All-Conference Teams

MIAMI, Fla. (November 4, 2021) – The 2021 All-Sun Conference Women’s Soccer Teams were announced on Thursday as voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches. This year’s teams feature 11 first-team selections, 12 second-team honorees, and 11 honorable mention picks. 
 
Overall, seven different schools placed at least one player among the group of 34 that make up the first- and second-team all-conference, honorable mention units. This year’s teams are comprised of five graduate student, 10 seniors, six juniors, six sophomores, and seven freshmen.
 
Keiser led all teams with seven all-conference honorees, including first-team selections Maja Henriksson, Kyoka Koshijima, Maxi Krug, Grace McClellan, Larrisa Weber, and Ramona Kannady. SCAD Savannah had six all-conference selections led by first-teamers Sydney Chura, and Berglind Baldursdottir. Southeastern had four all-conference honorees led by first-teamers Aisha Solorzano, and Shara Randez. Leonie Weide from St. Thomas rounded out this year’s first team.
 
The Sun Conference Specialty Awards for Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Champion of Character will be announced on Monday.
 
This year’s SUN Women’s Soccer Championship will open up with two quarterfinal matches on Saturday with Webber International (No. 6) at SCAD Savannah (No. 3), and USCB (No. 5) at St. Thomas (No. 4). The top seeds, Keiser and Southeastern await the winners of each quarterfinal match. KU will face the winner of USCB at STU and SEU will host the winner of WIU at SCAD.
 
The semifinals (at SEU and KU) are set for Tuesday, November 9 with the 2021 Championship Game scheduled for Friday, November 12 (hosted by the highest remaining seed).  Every game of the 2021 Women’s Soccer Championship will be broadcast on The Sun Digital Network.
