Sun Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week – Week Two

MIAMI, Fla. (January 17, 2022) – Keiser’s Shyann Jackson (Track) and USCB’s Iyana McKeever (Field) have been named the Sun Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 16.

Shyann Jackson – Keiser  – SO – Kissimmee, Florida
Jackson broke her own program record with a 57.58 time in the 400-Meter Dash. Her time also met A Standard qualifications. She now owns all five of the top-5 times in program history for the 400-Meter Dash. Additionally, she qualified for the 60-meter dash prelim with the fifth-best time but did not run in the final.
 
This is Jackson’s first SUN indoor weekly award of the season and the first of her career.

Iyana McKeever – USCB – SR – Statesboro, Georgia
McKeever turned heads in the women's long jump, as she earned a silver medal in the event. The senior made a leap of 5.59m, which is a season best and a B Standard for the NAIA Nationals. McKeever was also just 0.03m away from matching the first-place finisher from Georgia Southern. 
 
This is McKeever’s first SUN indoor weekly award of the season and the third of her career.
