St. Thomas Selected to Win 2023-24 SUN Title in Preseason Coaches' Poll

TAMPA, Fla. – The Bobcats of St. Thomas University have been voted to claim The Sun Conference (SUN) Men’s Basketball Regular Season Championship as selected by the league’s head coaches in the 2023-24 Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
 
St. Thomas totals 46 points in the poll and receive five first-place votes. Last season, the Bobcats advanced to the NAIA National Tournament final site after defeating The Master’s University and Florida College in the first and second rounds.

The Fire of Southeastern, the 2022-23 SUN Regular Season and Tournament Champions, are just behind St. Thomas and are slated to finish second, collecting 39 points and one first-place vote. The Fire also advanced to the NAIA National Tournament Sweet 16 last year. Keiser rounds out the top-3, tallying 36 points and the last two first-place votes.
 
Selected to finish fourth is Webber International with 30 points. Tied for the fifth-place spot is Florida Memorial and Warner, each with 24 points.
 
Ave Maria and Coastal Georgia complete the preseason poll with 18 and 7 points, respectively.

Conference play begins Saturday, January 6 with the conference tournament to begin Tuesday, February 27. Scores for all games can be found on The Sun Scoreboard and you can tune into SUN live action on The Sun Digital Network.
