2023-24 Women's Golf Specialty Award Winners Announced

TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces its major award winners for the 2023-24 women's golf season as voted on by the league's head coaches.
 
SCAD Savannah's Ariana Castro is this year's Player of the Year. Castro has won 4 of 8 events for SCAD Savannah this season as an Individual. She is currently ranked #1 in the country in the Spikemark rankings. 

Mohea Mansbendel is awarded this season's Freshman of the Year award. Mansbendel, according to the Spikemark rankings, is the #1 ranked freshman in the Sun Conference. She has a 73.7 scoring average, and also won the Coqui Classic for the Seahawks this year.

Coastal Georgia's Madelyn Taylor is the 2024 Champion of Character recipient. Taylor has done many volunteer hours for coaching recreation golf in her hometown. She also has helped with vacation bible school at her local church and has volunteered at the Jones Cup & RSM. As stated by her Head Coach Nicole Johns, "she is always a respectful person to her teammates, competitors and coaches."

Keiser's Brandon Miller is this year's Coach of the Year. Miller has led his squad to four tournament victories this season and currently sit No. 2 in the NAIA. The Seahawks will look to repeat as Sun Conference Champions in the upcoming 2024 Championship.
