TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces its major award winners and all-conference honorees for the 2024-25 women's golf season.
Carolin Alblas of Keiser is named the Sun Conference Golfer of the Year. A leader for the Seahawks, Alblas has recorded six top-10 finishes this season, including a runner-up finish at the 2025 Sun Conference Championship. She is currently ranked No. 1 in the Sun Conference and has helped lead Keiser to a No. 2 national team ranking in the NAIA.
Yunyi Luo of SCAD Savannah is named the Sun Conference Freshman of the Year. As a freshman, Luo leads the Bees with eight top-10 finishes and holds a 72.2 stroke average. A consistent force for SCAD, she recorded a low round of 71, with her worst finish this season being 11th out of a field of 99 golfers.
Madelyn Taylor of Coastal Georgia is this year’s Champion of Character award recipient. Taylor has completed numerous volunteer hours coaching summer junior golf camps in and around her hometown. She has also helped with Vacation Bible School at her local church and supported other youth programs. Taylor has volunteered at the RSM Classic and the Jones Cup and is a member of the FCA Leadership Team at Coastal Georgia. Even when Hurricane Helene damaged her childhood home, she continued to serve others, helping feed the linemen working tirelessly to restore power to her community. As stated by her head coach, Nicole Johns, Madelyn always puts others first and exemplifies the qualities of a great team leader.
Chris Kamys of SCAD Savannah is named the Sun Conference Coach of the Year. Voted on by his peers, Kamys earns the honor after leading the Bees to four first-place finishes this season. SCAD finished second at this year’s Sun Conference Championship and is currently ranked No. 3 in the NAIA National Top 25.
