TAMPA, Fla. – Ave Maria has been voted the favorite to claim this year's Sun Conference Beach Volleyball Regular Season Title as voted on by the league's head coaches in the 2025 Preseason Poll.
Ave Maria garners 138 points, including nine first-place votes, as the Gyrenes aim to repeat as Regular Season Champions. Last season, AMU achieved a perfect 10-0 record in conference play before falling just short in the SUN Tournament Championship, though they still qualified for the 8-team NAIA Invitational. They concluded the year with an overall record of 13-7.
Webber International closely follows, securing the second spot with 136 points and four first-place votes. As the 2024 SUN Tournament Champions, the Warriors also clinched a spot in last year's NAIA Invitational. WIU finished the year with an overall record of 18-8 and a 9-1 record in conference play.
Loyola New Orleans, which posted a 9-14 record last season, takes the third position with 117 points. The Wolf Pack is aiming to make a run at the title after finishing 7-3 in league play last year. Warner occupies the fourth spot with 99 points. The Royals finished third in last year's regular season with a 7-3 record and concluded the year at 7-7.
Mobile, 2024 SUN Tournament Semifinalist, is voted to finish fifth and earns 89 points in the poll. William Carey, another semifinalist from last year's tournament, claims the sixth spot with 88 points, narrowly trailing. Truett McConnell secures the seventh spot with 82 points, suggesting a tight race to finish in the top half of the league this year.
St. Andrews lands in the eighth position with 71 points, followed by New College of Florida at ninth with 58 points as the Mighty Banyans make their debut into The Sun Conference.
St. Thomas finds themselves in tenth place with 46 points with Florida Memorial positioned at eleventh with 37 points. Brenau and Spartanburg Methodist are positioned in the twelfth and thirteenth spots, with 27 and 26 points respectively, both beginning their first season in the Sun Conference.
Conference play begins Saturday, February 22. Results for all matches all season long can be found on The Sun Scoreboard.
