Announcing Weekly Honors in Sun Conference Basketball

TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the players of the week for men's and women's basketball for the week of December 1, 2025.

All four awards are based on performances from November 24 – November 30. 
 


Men's Basketball Players of the Week


Defensive Player of the Week

Nathan Mikkelson, Southeastern

Graduate Student | Palm City, Fla. | Forward

Notes: A force to be reckoned with, Mikkelson cleaned up the glass in two important non conference victories. Grabbing 15 boards (12 defensive), paired with a steal and block in the 84-70 road win over RV Mobile. Then cranking up the heat even more with nine rebounds (seven defensive), with three more blocks and two more steals in the 104-77 home victory over Embry-Riddle (Ariz.). He totaled 24 rebounds on the week with four blocks and three steals.

Anthony Kangah, Southeastern

Junior | Atlanta, Ga. | Guard

Notes: Kangah has been a revelation for the RV Fire, starting his first game after the win over Florida Memorial, and has scored double-digits in every game since. This week he averaged 15.5 points per game on 55 percent shooting in back-to-back wins. In the road win over RV Mobile, he shot 62.5 percent and 50 percent from three for 12 points, adding six rebounds. In the 104-77 blowout of Embry-Riddle (Ariz.), he dropped a team-high 19 points on 50 percent shooting, and 62.5 percent from three (5/8), adding two assists and six more boards.

Notes: Patterson netted a triple double against Florida National on Tuesday. She grabbed a season high 19 rebounds, 11 of which were defensive, adding 4 steals in the process.

Abby Shepard, Coastal Georgia

Senior | Beecher, Ill. | Guard

Notes: Abby was CCGA's best offensive performer this week including our game against ABAC where we set a school record for points (144). Her biggest impact came from three shooting 12-19 in the two games.
