TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week honorees for the week of February 10, 2025.

Men's Basketball Players of the Week Presented by WinWon

Vincent Miszkiewicz, Keiser | Sr. - Forward - South Elgin, Ill.

Another dominant week on the floor for Vincent Miszkiewicz who tallied nearly identical stats in the two wins this week. His rebounding numbers now rank second in the NAIA at 14.0 per game with his blocks ranking fourth. Keiser held the Royals to their lowest shooting percentage this season (.270) and second-lowest three-point percentage (.182). Warner was averaging 85.7 points per game before tonight's contest; Keiser held them nearly 30 points below their average.

Charlie Yoder, New College of Florida | Sr. - Guard - LaGrange, Ind.

Yoder averaged 29.5 points on the week while contributing 13 boards, 4 assists, and 4 steals. In the Mighty Banyans 104-70 win over Coastal Georgia, Yoder tallied 34 points and shooting 78% from the field.

Agar Farres Garcia, Florida Memorial | Sr. - Forward - Barcelona, Spain

The senior forward scored 14 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out six assists and generated four steals in the blowout victory over New College of Florida. For the week she totaled 19 points, 16 rebounds and five steals as (RV) FMU added two more conference victories.

Colleen Shanahan, Ave Maria | Sr. - Forward - Orlando, Fla.

Colleen Shanahan had another big week with back-to-back 20+ point games, bringing her streak to three straight games of passing the 20-point barrier. Shanahan hit 21 against Coastal Georgia and 22 against Warner. The senior forward also grabbed 16 and 18 rebounds respectively, bringing her to 12 double-doubles on the season. Shanahan went 61.3% from the field, keeping her with the third best FG% in the NAIA this season.

Michael Long, Ave Maria | So. - Naples, Fla.

Michael Long won his third consecutive 800m race Friday, posting a time of 1:51.23. He still has the second fastest time in the 800m in the NAIA this season.

Darvioun Rigby, Keiser | Sr. - Providenciales, Turks and Caicos

Placed 4th overall in the men's shot put at the Celebration Pointe Classic.

Maci Mills, Southeastern | Jr. - Birmingham, Ala. 

Mills dominated the NAIA field on Friday, running an NAIA "A" Standard time of 2:14.38, finishing sixth only behind NCAA DI and NCAA DII competition.

Caitlyn O'Brien, Ave Maria | Jr. - Pewaukee, Wis.

At 5.81m, O'Brien has the second longest jump in the NAIA this season. O'Brien also set a personal record in the Shot Put, placing 6th with a mark of 10.93m.

Isaiah Aleksenko, Keiser | Fr. - Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands

Winning the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard backstroke, and the 200-yard butterfly, the freshman was named the 2024-25 Sun Conference Swimmer of Year at this year's championship. He also helped the Seahawks to gold medals in the 400-yard medley relay 400-yard freestyle relay.

Stella Warborn, St. Thomas | So. - Lindigo, Sweden

Warborn was the 2024-25 Individual Champion in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard breaststroke, and the 200-yard breaststroke, earning the title of Swimmer of the Year. She also helped her team make the podium in the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard medley relay.

Alfsonso Villalobos, Southeastern | Gr. - Infielder - Kirkland, Quebec

Alfonso Villalobos lit up every pitcher he met this past week. Over four games he connected 12 times in 17 at bats for a .706 batting average. Among those 12 hits were six RBI's, five doubles, two homers, 10 personally scored runs, and only one strikeout. Two added walks contributed to a .737 on base percentage, gathering 23 total bases with a stolen base as well as racking up a 1.353 slugging percentage.

Reece Wissinger, Southeastern | Gr. - Right Handed Pitcher - Burlington, Iowa

Last week was great for Reece Wissinger, this week was even better. Fanning 11 batters, and only allowing one hit and a walk in a game that was supposed to be nine innings. Wissinger went the distance maintaining his perfect ERA and converting on both fielding opportunities.



 

Softball Players of the Week Presented by WinWon

Rylee Mills, Coastal Georgia | So. - Pitcher/First Baseman - Effingham County, Ga.

Had two appearances in the circle on the weekend, pitching two complete games and allowing just one run combined. Pitched a five inning one hit shutout against Columbia College and followed with a seven inning one run performance against Brewton-Parker on Saturday. Had an ERA of 0.58 on the weekend. Along with her pitching stats, Mills went 11-14 at the plate with three runs scored, four doubles, one triple, and seven RBI's, leading the Mariners to a 4-0 weekend in Columbia, S.C.

Gray helped lead the Bees to a perfect 3-0 week, including a dominating season-opener win over No. 1 and reining National Champion Reinhardt University.

Ellen Benintendi, SCAD Savannah | Fr. - Midfielder - Cincinnati, Ohio

Benintendi led the Bees to a 3-0 week, including a dominating defeat over No. 1 and reining National Champion Reinhardt in the season opener. The Freshman leads the team in goals (17) and draw controls (24) and has two assists for 19 points.



 

Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week

Aspen and Layton Adams, Mobile | Seniors - Union Springs, Ala.

Swept all four of their opponents (2-0) to help the Rams to a 4-0 start on the year. At the ones, the pair defeated the best of St. Andrews, LaGrange, Brenau, and Truett McConnell. 




 

Tennis Players of the Week

Danil Ozernoy, SCAD Savannah | Sr. - Almaty, Kazakhstan

Ozernoy led the Bees to an undefeated week at the Tri-Conference Challenge. No. 17 SCAD upset No. 16 Reinhardt and No. 7 William Carey on their way to three ranked wins.

Violet Apisah, Keiser | Sr. - Sydney, Australia

It was a great start to the season for the No. 1 player in the NAIA, Violet Apisah. She kicked off the season with a win over the top player in division II, Alina Michalitsch, winning with ease, 6-4, 6-1. She followed that up by leading Keiser to their second ITA NAIA National Women's Team Indoor Championship. For her efforts, she was named to the all-tournament team in singles and doubles.

Winston Haynes, Southeastern | Sr. - Clermont, Fla.

Winston was instrumental in leading SEU to a 3-0 victory over St. Thomas. In 3 games he had, 11 goals on 16 shots, 4 assists and 3 saves.

Benjamin Parker, Texas A&M University-Texarkana | Fr. - Atlanta, Texas

In TAMUT's 2-0 win over Webber International, Parker tallied seven stocks.

Dakota Mailizia, Southeastern | So. - Apopka, Fla.

Dakota played an instrumental part in leading SEU to a 3-0 victory over Warner. Primarily operating as the main tank, he stymied the opposing main tank. His great play led to successful team fights and winning rounds.
