2025 Sun Conference Volleyball Players to Watch

TAMPA, Fla. – Listed below are the Sun Conference Volleyball Players to Watch for the 2025 season as submitted by each program.

The season commences on Friday, August 15th with conference play to begin on Friday, September 5. The Sun Conference Tournament will start with quarterfinal matchups on Tuesday, November 11.

Beatriz Rissi

Beatriz Rissi

Graduate Student | Sao Paulo, Brazil (Transfer from Barton CC in 2023) | Middle Blocker

Notes: The Gyrenes return one of their key veteran leaders with Beatriz Rissi coming back for her graduate year. Rissi started all 24 matches in each of the season's 84 sets. She led AMU in both kills (180), total blocks (58) and total points (218.5). She was also the Gyrenes' most efficient hitter with an attack percentage of .280. She recorded 10+ kills in seven different matches, with five of those matches being against Sun Conference opponents.

Notes: She is an outstanding individual who is in elite shape, and plays at a high level. She is a member of the Trinidad and Tobago National Volleyball Team (U-23).

Senior | Araraquara, Brazil | Setter

Notes: First-Team All SUN Conference. Led NCF with a team-high 665 assists and ranked fifth in the Sun Conference in assists. Recorded a season-high 51 assists vs. Webber.

Cece Worsham

Cece Worsham

Junior | Lima, Ohio (Gulf Coast State College) | Outside Hitter

Notes: Worsham comes to the Seahawks after spending two seasons at Gulf Coast State College. The native of Lima, Ohio, proved to be a key addition, starting all 31 matches and recording 257 kills, including 86 in conference play. She added 25 service aces, 172 digs (1.58 per set), and 50 total blocks (0.46 per set), while handling 225 receptions. A standout multi-sport athlete, Worsham played basketball, volleyball, and ran track in high school, winning the 2023 District Championship in the 100m hurdles.

Junior | Ceto, Italy (Cowley County CC) | Outside Hitter

Notes: Was two-time First-Team NJCAA DII All-American, First-Team AVCA All-American, First-Team All-Region, First-Team All-Conference. Earned a spot on the NJCAA DII National Tournament All-Tournament Team. In 2024, she was named NJCAA DII Player of the Year, AVCA Two-Year College Player of the Year, NJCAA National Tournament MVP, KJCCC Conference MVP, and KJCCC Conference Freshman of the Year.

Notes: 2024 All-Sun Conference First Team member. Ranked in the top five of the conference in blocks (1.00 per set) and hitting percentage (.338), and added a career-best 2.54 kills per set last season.

Graduate Student | Vero Beach, Fla. | Outside/Defensive Specialist

Notes: Graduate student and standout returner, Leah Cooley, is a dynamic presence at both outside hitter and defensive specialist, bringing a combination of energy, skill, and experience. During the 2024 indoor season, she appeared in 85 sets, recording 211 kills (2.48/set), 30 aces, 256 digs (3.01/set), and 17 blocks (3 solo, 14 assisted). Her consistent performance earned her SUN Conference All-Conference Second Team and All-Academic Team honors. Beyond her on-court contributions, Cooley is recognized as a vocal leader and mentor who sets the tone for the team’s culture with her work ethic, positivity, and commitment to excellence on and off the court.

Kaylee Hunt

Senior | Georgetown, Ind. (Lake-Sumter State College) | Outside Hitter

Notes: Hunt will look to anchor a Warrior lineup eager to make a return to the Conference Tournament. Her senior leadership will be a welcome addition to the new-look Warriors under first-year head coach Audrye Alejandro-Rivera.
