Sun Conference Football Game of the Week: No. 17 Fire Face [RV] Eagles in Cross-Conference Matchup

TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference is excited to announce its second Football Game of the Week of the 2025 season. The Southeastern University Fire will host the Reinhardt University Eagles on Saturday, September 13th in a Sun Conference/Mid-South showdown.

As previously announced, this matchup is part of the scheduling alliance between The Sun Conference and the Mid-South Conference, and serves as the first cross-conference meeting for SEU and second for RU.

Viewed as a must-watch non-conference matchup, the league will provide additional promotion and sideline coverage throughout the day. Fans can follow along on the league’s social media accounts by clicking the icons below.

Southeastern Notes

  • Southeastern opened the season with a 40-7 road win over Fort Lauderdale, improving to 1-0.
  • The Fire posted 384 total yards (208 rushing, 176 passing), ranking 35th nationally in total offense and 20th in scoring at 40.0 PPG.
  • Curtis Kimmons rushed for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 carries, leading a ground game ranked 11th in the NAIA.
  • Nate Mikell completed 17 of 26 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown, with David Pomales adding a 27-yard TD reception.
  • The defense held Fort Lauderdale to 139 total yards and 7 points, ranking 4th nationally in total defense, passing defense, and scoring defense.
  • Jamil Jones returned two punts for 71 yards, including a 41-yard return, and Joel McGrath went 2-for-3 on field goals and 4-for-4 on extra points.

  • Reinhardt is 1-1 on the season, opening with a 49-35 win over Florida Memorial before a 30-18 road loss to Cumberland.
  • The Eagles are averaging 33.5 points per game while allowing 32.5, ranking 30th nationally in scoring offense and 47th in scoring defense.
  • Taylor Jackson has thrown for 425 yards and 4 touchdowns, completing 33 of 66 passes at a 212.5 YPG average.
  • On the ground, Jah Colbert leads Reinhardt with 117 rushing yards through two games, while Jamarion Walker has scored 2 rushing touchdowns.
