TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference announces the players of the week for baseball, men's and women's basketball, beach volleyball, women's flag football, men's and women's golf, esports, women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, and softball for the week of February 23, 2026.

Men's Basketball Players of the Week
Defensive Player of the Week
Cameron Baldwin, Keiser
Junior | Acworth, Ga. | Forward
Notes: Cameron Baldwin anchored the defense for the final two games of Keiser's regular season averaging 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game across two contests, including a career-high seven blocks on Saturday at Coastal Georgia. On Wednesday, Keiser gave up just 52 points which are the second-fewest all season for KU and the lowest amount scored by FMU this season. The Seahawks recorded 16 steals in that game and held Florida Memorial to 32.1% shooting from the field, a season low for the Lions.
Offensive Player of the Week
Shawn Lefresne, New College of Florida

Notes: Lefresne ended his NCF career with a bang. He opened the week by scoring 18 points, dishing six assists and grabbing eight rebounds vs. Warner and then on his Senior Day set a school single-game record with 47 points as he shot 19-for-30 from the field and 7-for-11 from the stripe. He added a team-high seven rebounds and dished two assists.

Taylor Blackshear, Coastal Georgia

Notes: Blackshear totaled nine steals and two blocks on the week for the Mariners, as well as grabbing 22 rebounds. In CCGA's narrow 64-63 loss to Keiser, Blackshear notched seven steals and grabbed 12 boards.

Notes: The reigning OPOTY put together another stellar week of scoring. She shot 8-of-9 from the field against Fort Lauderdale to score 20 points for the 10th time this season, before making it 2-for-2 on 20+ point performances with a 28-point showing against Keiser. She averaged 24 PPG this week on 66.7% from the field and sits second in the conference in PPG.

Notes: Recorded multiple hits in every game of the Bobcats' four-game series with #7 Loyola, hitting a pair of home runs on top of three RBI in a 3-1 series victory.

Notes: Swartz was dominant in NCF's series-opening win over Bethel. He tossed 6.0 innings in the seven-inning contest, striking out 10 Pilots, issuing only one walk and one hit (an infield single).

Notes: Recorded multiple hits in each of the Bobcats' five contests this past week, going 12-17 at the plate with five extra base hits, five RBI and five stolen bases.

Notes: Fia Zelenka is on another level. Despite her first loss of the season, she was the only reason that game was close, striking out eight and stranding several more. The next two outings were next level, as she fanned nine in the 2-0 blanking of Faulkner, and scratching 13 more in the 5-0 win over RV William Carey. Her season ERA now sits at 0.21, and her k/7 is 11.23 through 33 innings pitched. This week she finished with a 10.16 k/7, 0.34 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 30 strikeouts over 20.2 innings pitched on a 2-1 record and two complete games.

Notes: Beasley totaled 14 points on the week, tallying 11 goals and three assists. In Life's 23-4 win over Truett McConnell, Beasley notched seven goals and picking up four ground balls.

Notes: Ackerman was a pivotal part of the team victory at Kinderlou and finished tied for 2nd individually with rounds of 72, 71, and 72.
Women's Golfer of the Week

Notes: Luo tied for first after three rounds with a score of 220 (74, 72, 74) but lost the playoff to finish in second. Despite shooting the lowest round of the tournament (297) in round three, No. 6 SCAD finished third overall with a three-round score of 920 (313, 310, 297).

Notes: Lockett has gotten off to a fast start through the first four games of the season. Against LaGrange, she recorded four pulls. She followed that with nine pulls and an interception versus Reinhardt, then turned in her best performance to date against Emmanuel with two pulls and a pair of pick-sixes. She currently ranks fifth in the nation in pulls (15) and is tied for third in interceptions (3).

Freshman | Fort Worth, Texas | Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
Notes: The freshman has burst onto the scene to start her collegiate career. Against LaGrange, she went 8-for-11 passing for 88 yards, added three rushes for 59 yards and two touchdowns, and caught five passes for 44 yards—while also finishing with three pulls. Versus Reinhardt, she hauled in four receptions for 56 yards and a score. Against Emmanuel, she went 6-for-13 passing for 82 yards and added three catches for 109 yards and two touchdowns. She capped the stretch with a standout performance against Lees-McRae, completing 16-of-22 passes for 131 yards and four touchdowns, rushing for 124 yards and another score, and snagging an interception. She currently leads the NAIA in rushing yards (174) and rushing touchdowns (3), ranks second in rushing yards per game (43.5), sits second nationally in receiving yards (209), and leads the nation in all-purpose yards (402).

Notes: It was a strong start to the season for Didrik Liljekvist who went 3-0 in singles and doubles at the ITA NAIA Men's Indoor National Championships. Liljekvist led the Seahawks to a 3rd-place finish has already beaten two ranked opponents this season.
Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Notes: The top player in the NAIA led the Seahawks to their third title at the ITA NAIA National Women's Team Indoor Championship. Apisah went unbeaten in singles and doubles, dropping just eight games across three matches.

Notes: Went 12-2 in the in the first set against TAMUT as the first player sent in and went 14-4 total between the two sets. Hernandez helped lead his team to a 2-0 conference victory over TAMUT.
