MIAMI, Fla. (August 2, 2022) – Keiser University has been voted to take the 2022 Sun Conference (SUN) Women’s Soccer Regular Season title as voted among the league’s nine coaches in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Seahawks won the regular season title in 2021. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team in the poll.
 
Keiser received eight on the nine first place votes to rack up a total of 64 points. Southeastern followed behind the Seahawks collecting 54 points. The Fire took home the tournament title going back-to-back in 2020 and 2021.
 
SCAD-Savannah finished in third and collected the final first place vote and a total of 51 points. St. Thomas followed just shortly behind the Bees collecting 45 points. Thomas took the fifth spot of the poll with 30 points. Ave Maria rounds out the top-six collecting 27 points.
 
Webber International (24 points), Warner (20 points), and Florida Memorial (nine points) close out the last three spots of the poll in seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.
 
Last year was a historic one for the Sun Conference as four teams qualified for the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round. Keiser and Southeastern earned No. 1 seeds in their respective brackets, while SCAD-Savannah and St. Thomas earned No. 3 seeds in their brackets. Keiser was the lone team to advance to the final site bowing out in the NAIA Quarterfinals.
 
Conference play begins Thursday, September 29 with the conference tournament to begin Saturday November 5.
