TAMPA, Fla. - The 2024 All-Sun Conference Volleyball Teams were announced on Wednesday afternoon as voted on by the league’s eight head coaches.
Regular Season Champion and undefeated St. Thomas had an impressive representation, leading all schools with five First Team honorees—Tayla Barnes, Payton Bertke, Sana Dennis, Bianca Grassi, and Hope Leavy-Gaskins—and three athletes on the Second Team, including Carolina Cruz and Maria Eduarda Ferreira Ramos.
Southeastern and New College of Florida stood out with strong showings on the First Team, each earning three spots. The Fire also landed one Second Team honoree. Keiser totaled four athletes across both teams with two on the First Team and two on Second Team.
Webber International had players earning recognition on both the First and Second Teams. Ave Maria and Warner rounded out the selections, each with a player named to the Second Team.
Six representatives are repeat winners from last year (Tayla Barnes, Payton Bertke, Sana Dennis, Bianca Grassi, Cambry Pope, and Nadia Reid).
The 2024 Sun Conference Volleyball Championship resumes on Friday, November 15th with two semifinal matchups. No. 4 seeded New College of Florida will take on top-seeded St. Thomas on their home floor at 4:00 p.m. while No. 3 seeded Keiser will face No. 2 Southeastern at 6:00 p.m. The Championship Match will take place in Miami Gardens at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16th.
