TAMPA, Fla. – Southeastern University has been picked as the favorite to win the 2024 Sun Conference Men’s Cross Country Championship as voted on by the head coaches in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
The Fire look to win their third-consecutive Sun Conference Title after claiming the 2022 and 2023 trophies. Despite graduating three-time top finisher, John Perez-Dunn, SEU returns three top-14 finishers from last season’s championship meet, Joshua Shields, Nathan Evans, and Ethan Campbell. Southeastern earns 34 points in the poll and four first-place votes.
Just behind the Fire with 33 points and the other three first-place votes is Ave Maria. The Gyrenes return the fourth finisher in last year’s championship, Samuel Paga, along with two other top 14 finishers. SCAD Savannah (26 points), third place as a team last season, are picked to again finish in the third spot this year.
St. Thomas is voted to finish fourth with 21 while Keiser and Webber Int'l are tied for the fifth-place spot with 12 points. Warner completes the poll with nine points.
