Sun Conference Game of the Week: No. 2 Keiser Battles No. 8 St. Thomas in Top-10 Showdown

TAMPA, Fla. – The Sun Conference is excited to announce its seventh Football Game of the Week of the 2025 season. The No. 2 Keiser University Seahawks will host the No. 8 St. Thomas University Bobcats on Saturday, October 18th in week three of conference action.

Viewed as a must-watch non-conference matchup, the league will provide additional promotion and sideline coverage throughout the day. Fans can follow along on the league’s social media accounts by clicking the icons below.

Keiser Notes

  • Keiser has been ranked in the NAIA Top 25 for 37 consecutive polls (since Oct. 3, 2022).
  • The Seahawks are coming off a 49-28 win at Florida Memorial last Saturday.
  • The win marked the team's third consecutive game of 40 points or more.
  • With the win, Keiser improved to 21-0 all-time in Sun Conference action and 41-3 in conference play (SUN & MSC).
  • With the win, Keiser is now 6-1 all-time as the No. 2 team in the nation.
  • The Seahawks are now 55-6 all-time in games played in the state of Florida (includes home and road games).
  • With 49 points on Saturday, Keiser improved to 54-0 when scoring 30-or-more points and 34-0 when reaching the 40-point plateau.
  • Quarterback Shea Spencer ended the day with 19-of-30 passing for 296 yards and the four passing touchdowns.
  • Spencer became the school's all-time leader in touchdown passes, surpassing Eli Matthews (60 TDs – 2018-20). Spencer ended the day increasing his career total to 63.
  • The Seahawks enter Saturday ranked No. 1 in the NAIA in third-down conversions (55%).
  • Keiser's offense is averaging 44.5 points per game (tied for No. 10 in the NAIA).
  • Defensively, the Seahawks are allowing 18.5 points per contest (No. 18 in the NAIA).

St. Thomas Notes

  • St. Thomas travels to Keiser on the heels of a commanding 52-6 victory at Warner.
  • The Bobcats held Warner to 178 total yards of offense.
  • STU has held four teams to double-digit rushing yards this season and two to negative yards on the ground.
  • Since allowing a touchdown to Georgetown College with 13:10 remaining in the third quarter, the Bobcats have not allowed another touchdown over the last 135:10 minutes of play.
  • The Bobcats 234.4 total yards allowed per game ranks fifth in the NAIA.
  • Against Warner, Jaylen Thomas accumulated 222 all-purpose yards. His 138.4 per-game average sits atop the conference and ranks 19th nationally.
  • Keely Watson has connected with five teammates for touchdowns, led by 2024 Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Year David Hayes who has six which ties for 12th in the NAIA.
